libra full moon + lunar penumbral eclipse of 25 March, 2024
Today we have a penumbral Lunar eclipse at 5°07’ Libra, the sign of love and relationships. The first eclipse of the year!
The energy of the eclipse already started showing itself around 10 days ago and will end 10 days after the next one on April 8.
It’s the third eclipse on the Aries-Libra axis (the first occurred on April 20, 2023, the second on October 14, 2023) — and with three additional eclipses remaining in the series (April 8, 2024; October 2, 2024; and March 29, 2025).
Eclipse time is an excellent time to reflect: are there any links between what’s going on now in your life that seems significant and what was happening six months ago (during the second Aries-Libra solar eclipse last October 14, 2023)? Eclipse themes unfold over time, it is your path to self-actualization. Therefore, the solar eclipse of April 8 will be a sort of reset for the next 6 months.
ECLIPSES are PIVOT POINTS where PERMANENT CHANGE happens, be it beginnings or endings.
A Lunar Eclipse is a (very) powerful full moon, when the Luminaries are in opposition to each other & the Earth is moving between the Sun and the Moon, blocking the Sun’s light
Eclipse season is a time of sudden change, what you thought would [maybe] [eventually] happen [sometime] soon is happening right now…
This eclipse is taking place on the Aries-Libra axis. Some possible themes are:
autonomy vs partnership
compromise, independence, co-dependence
closure/culmination/ending of some kind
external conditions changing, disregarding one’s conscious will
Relationships of any kind ending
Striving to find an equilibrium between the collective and you
Libra is an air sign connected to the realm of thoughts but also very connected to relationships, this is why it would be useful to take this opportunity and reflect on your relationships at this time. Are there any patterns that are asking to be changed in your relationships, such as codependency or perhaps self-absorption? Where do you have a strong instinct to “do you” and “be you”? With Libra, it is natural to consider others and act in concert with everyone. How do your actions impact others? Aries has a very strong need to do the best for oneself and focus on the “I”, are you showing up for others the way they do with you?
Some thoughts for those who are letting go of some relationship at this time, consider it as a sign from the universe telling you that you have outgrown this particular relationship and have learned everything you could through it. Now an upgrade is needed. Fated events have found you going towards relationships where your sense of self at the time was reflected back to you. Now you are given a chance to let go and develop yourself. Be more of yourself and you’ll see that you’ll attract the right people.
With the Moon conjunct the South Node in Libra, some habits such as people pleasing and excess diplomacy can be thrown out the window. There may be an awakening to Aries’ assertiveness and a sense of striving to be more wholly oneself. Your inner authority taking precedence. Over compliance towards a group or a specific person or even society in general may not be the order of the day.. The Sun in Aries is urging you to express yourself with less restraint and develop your self-reliance by standing up for yourself.
Reality check regarding relationships: Venus conjunct Saturn in Pisces. Is the relationship outgrown? Or perhaps a practical consolidation of a relationship, such as recalibration or renewal of a commitment. Or maybe a financial restructuring (due to the link of Venus with finances). Venus is in a sextile with Jupiter and soon in a sextile with Uranus so big changes are to be foreseen along the same lines. Maybe more rebelliousness? More adaptive energy for sure.
With the Moon trine Pluto (wide), there may be some obsessive tendencies, intense feelings…
With Chiron conjunct the North Node, there is a strong healing opportunity, mass healing. Let’s hope this eclipse brings an end to the mass suffering happening in Palestine right now. Let’s hope this tragedy (which started last October 2023…) ends with a permanent ceasefire in the next couple of weeks.
And also, let’s not forget that we are in the mercury retrograde shadow phase. Mercury retrograde starts on April 1 in Aries. There is the potential for very intense chaos in the next few weeks. Better not plan anything important and embrace the unpredictability that seems to be surrounding us right now.
👁️ TAROT:
The Tarot card connected to this eclipse is Two of Swords. In fact all twos in the tarot are connected to equinoxes and solstices. Two of Cups is summer solstice. Two of Wands is the autumn equinox and Two of Pentacles the winter solstice. The Two of Swords corresponds to the element of air and the first decan of the astrological zodiac sign Libra (0-9 degrees) and is ruled by the Moon. With the Two of Swords there is an urge to still the mind to find a balance between the conscious and unconscious realms. A meditative, quiet period is suggested to end an indecision state or a denial of some sort. Balancing the heart and the mind. Considering yourself and The Other. With Moon’s rulership over this decan and its connection to Cancer, a Water Sign, there is definitely an allusion to connecting to your intuition. And Libra being generally connected to the major arcana “Justice”, there is also a need to be true or find truth. So looking inwards to find the truth and peace of mind.
⚡️ IMPORTANT:
Journal between the two moons (the next one on April 8), reflect on yourself through the mirror of your relationships, rest, keep your heart open
