I can’t help but see a parallel between the Saturn Mercury Cazimi - a rare astrological event and the self-immolation of Aaraon Bushnell, US Air Force pilot, who decided to end his complicity in genocide and the Zionist massacres in Palestine. Saturn and Mercury were both in “the heart of the Sun” at the same time. Something we don’t see very often.

Saturn represents the principle of realism, structure, commitment, resilience, obstacles and order. Mercury is ideas, perceptions, the way we learn, communicate and think. In Pisces, the way of the heart becomes more concrete, graspable, realistic. With this rare conjunction, we can expect invigorated decision making related to our own personal dreams. We are given a chance once more to commit to our dreams and perhaps to commit to more compassion in our daily communication. This particular day, 25 February 2024, was a good day to make a decision and be committed to it until the end. In Pisces, empathic powers are heightened and with all this mercurial cerebral energy, one can push him or herself to take a first step towards a goal, a project or an ideal that is not yet fulfilled.

Surrender, Sacrifice and Self-sacrifice are quite Piscean characteristics. Aaron’s laudable act of self-sacrifice in the name of the defenseless and the oppressed is a most poignant message. 

The Moon in Virgo was also opposing Neptune in Pisces: extreme compassion, heightened emotions, sensitivity to suffering, martyrdom, being scared, feeling guilty and overwhelmed by feelings. These are all possible manifestations of this transit. Manifestations that could take a practical dimension (Virgo). 

Mars-Venus in Aquarius were in a fixed square to Jupiter in Taurus: excess, grand extravagant gestures, over-optimism, inflated altruistic rage. We also have here an intense relational, human-oriented and rebellious energy in a tense relationship to earthy and practical expansion. Lack of self-control, especially with regards to one’s own frustration is also an expression of this intense transit. Definitely no compromise there. Stubbornness, fighting for ideals and justice.
